Speaking in Code
Amy Grill’s Speaking in Code is a documentary that’s starting to get a lot of buzz in the electronic music scene. The movie apparently is about those of us that are enthralled with and by tech music.
It’s a movie about techno that’s not about techno. Speaking in Code documents, in a fresh-looking, verite style, a series of colorful characters — producers, promoters, DJs, journalists - who live and work in the world of underground techno. The universal themes about the struggle of a community, the acceptance of art and the humanity of artists are told in the film.
230 hours of film are used to weave the story
The documentary features techno names like Modeselektor, Wighnomy Brothers, Monolake, Ellen Allien, Akufen and Miss Kittin.
I am very interested.
